The Kaw Valley Rail Heritage Conservancy thrives because of the support and dedication of our community. There are many ways to help preserve Santa Fe 3463 and share Kansas railroad history with the public.

What We Need

Donors – Every contribution, large or small, helps drive our restoration, educational, and outreach efforts. Donations directly support the care of 3463, help fund projects, and ensure the long-term sustainability of the KVRHC. Kaw Valley Rail Heritage Conservancy is a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization, and contributions are federally tax deductible.

Volunteers – We welcome volunteers of any background, skill level, or experience, including brand new volunteers. Whether you are interested in hands-on restoration, organizing events, assisting with research, or supporting administrative tasks, there is a role for you.

For volunteers who are able to join our ongoing efforts, we ask that you review, fill out, and send our Volunteer Policy and contribute a yearly membership fee of $40. This helps cover costs for insurance, overhead, and security for the locomotive, allowing you to actively participate in projects safely and effectively.

Specialized Skills – Archivists, event coordinators, photographers, and other professionals can help us preserve history and engage the community more effectively. Your expertise makes a difference.

How to Get Started

We want you to get involved in our project. Be it through making a financial contribution, volunteering your time, serving as an advocate, or any number of other means, your support will make the preservation of No. 3463 a reality.
